Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley was sourced from sites Emerson Brown has worked with for a number of years, coming primarily from bench and valley floor vineyard blocks located in Oakville, Rutherford and St. Helena. It was aged in French oak, 40% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, notes of baked black cherries, preserved blackberries and warm cassis come bounding out of the glass with touches of camphor, forest floor and Provence herbs. Full-bodied, the palate has a solid, grainy-textured foundation with bags of freshness and loads of earthy accents complimenting the baked black fruit flavors, finishing on a minty note. (LPB)

Wine Enthusiast
From a variety of sites, this good-value wine overdelivers on its price point, offering sanguine notes of olive, crushed rock and cassis and currant. The oak is well integrated and nuanced in toasty notes. There's a softness to the midpalate that appeals in balanced lushness. (VB)

K&L Notes
If you love Napa Cabernets but don’t want to spend a bundle, then you’ll absolutely want to pick up this stunning 2017 from Emerson Brown. Keith Emerson and Brian Brown both work at Vineyard 29, so you can say they know a thing or two about producing a world-class Cabernet, and their prodigious talents are on full display in this stirring rendition. As Wine Advocate’s Lisa Perotti-Brown notes, it is sourced primarily from bench and valley floor vineyard blocks located in Oakville, Rutherford, and Saint Helena and is about as classic as they come. The wine’s ample fruit is accented by the perfect complement of oak spice and savory tones. Already an outstanding value at its standard retail price of $50, we secured a special deal that allows us to sell it here for a very affordable $39.99. This is nothing short of remarkable given the wine’s excellent pedigree. Affordable Napa Cabs are harder to find by the day, so when one comes along that’s this good, quick action is a must. Our hats are off to Keith and Brian for delivering such a resounding success and at such an excellent price.
