This has such ripe and juicy-fruit appeal; the flavors run so deep and so ripe with a fleshy, succulent and attractively rich palate. Smooth and fluid with some warmth at the finish. From organically grown grapes. (10/2019)
A complex blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Cinsault and 5% Mourvèdre, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Villages Sablet is wonderfully creamy and plush, with waves of ripe cherries and berries accented by hints of orange zest and black tea. It's full-bodied but lithe and elegant, finishing long. (JC) (11/2018)
The Verquière estate has been passed down from father to son for many generations and is now managed by Thibaut Chamfort. Following age-old traditions and sustainable practices, the estate was recently certified organic. The Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Sablet is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre, and 5% Cinsault grown on three different terroirs. The first being the chalky clay soils with loads of large pebbles from the lower part of the appellation, and limestone and marl from the highest part and the classic sandy soils of Sablet right around the village and estate. Verquière recently returned to us after a long hiatus and we are pleased to have them back.
