Representing one of his only wines that could be salvaged from the hail that ravaged this village, Richter’s 2011 Veldenzer Elisenberg Riesling Kabinett displays fresh lime, pear, and apple on a silken palate and finishes with simple but bright and refreshing juiciness – a wine so frank and pure as to entirely belie the beating that Veldenz’s vines took in August. Plan to enjoy it by 2015. (DS) (4/2013)
From a vineyard on the south bank of the Mosel, east of Brauneberg, this is as fresh and floral as a sweet red apple, with zesty acidity. (12/2013)
