Snappy raspberry and sweet hibiscus aromas are layered with dewy herbs on the fresh nose of this bottling. The palate is both high toned and fruity, with fresh flavors of raspberry, dried rose petal and Earl Grey tea riding on zippy acidity. (MK)

Vinous
Light bright red. Lively, smoke-accented red berry, candied rose, vanilla and allspice scents display very good clarity and lift. Sweet and energetic in style, offering spice-tinged raspberry, cherry-vanilla and spicecake flavors that spread out slowly on the back half. Closes supple and sweet, with building spiciness and fine-grained tannins that add shape and subtle grip. 40% new French oak. (JR)

Lithe, with juicy richness to the raspberry, dried cherry and red currant flavors. Offers crunchy minerality midpalate, with a finely textured, minerally finish. (KM)

Allen Meadows - Burghound
A perfumed nose of rose petals, red currants, spice as well as dark raspberry hints gives way to hearty and voluminous middle-weight flavors blessed with a substantial amount of dry extract that buffers a moderately firm tannic spine. This should be approachable young but repay a few years of cellaring too.

Connoisseurs Guide
Cut from markedly different cloth than Morgan's Double L Pinot, the Twelve Clones bottling is a more forthright, less tightly wound wine that shows a mildly brushy veneer to its slightly juicy and comparatively easy-to- access, cherryish fruit. It is very comfortably balanced and neither stiff nor soft on the palate, and, while it is firmed by a scant touch of barely noticeable finishing tannin that will allow it to keep for several years, it is, in the main, a rounded, ready-to-drink, mid-sized Pinot that asks for nothing in the way of additional age. *One Star*
