The palate is chewy and full, with flavors tumbling over each other in a rush: orange, cinnamon, clove, licorice, horehound, oak, almonds, vanilla cream, and a bit of herbaceousness. From Whiskey Consensus: "Heigold is Rabbit Hole’s take on a High Rye Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. It has a mashbill of 70% corn, 25% Malted Rye, and 5% Malted Barley. This whiskey entered the barrel at 110 proof, which is lower than most distilleries entry proof. Heigold is aged for a minimum of 3 years in level 3 charred barrels."
