Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots displays notes of sweet wild berries, spices, rose petal, orange rind and potpourri, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny palate that's plush, layered and fragrant, with a deep core of fruit and a long, stony finish. This is a high-class Boudots that is performing very well from barrel. (WK)

Vinous
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Boudots 1er Cru has one of the most vivacious bouquets of the range, featuring shimmering red cherries, wild strawberry, bergamot and hints of Earl Grey coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine, filigreed tannin, silky-smooth texture and a slightly savory, persistent finish. A supremely well crafted wine from Grivot. (NM)

Mild reduction pushes the fruit to the background but I doubt that it will last. Otherwise there is excellent volume, weight and intensity to the muscular and powerful big-bodied but seductively textured flavors that culminate in a youthfully austere and gorgeously long if quite firmly structured finale. This is a very dense wine in the context of the vintage and one that is going to require at least some forbearance. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*

Decanter
You can't get any closer to Vosne-Romanée on the north side of Nuits-St-Georges than Aux Boudots. This old vine parcel has lots of small berries (millerands) and always produces an intensely fruity, textured wine. This is true to type, with gluggable raspberry and strawberry fruit, some rose petal top-notes and supporting acidity. (TA)

K&L Notes
93-95 points, Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Quite dense red purple, this is a solid weighty Nuits leavened though by its proximity to Vosne Malconsorts. These are old vines and Etienne feels that the grapes ripened nicely, though I detected a fresh feel giving a sweet and sour note. There is impressive latent power here, but the cuvée did not quite sing when I tasted it." (11/2018)
