2017 Luli Santa Lucia Highlands Syrah

SKU #1430953 91 points Jeb Dunnuck

Lots of blue fruits, bacon fat, and plenty of peppery, meaty notes emerge from the 2017 Syrah Santa Lucia Highlands. This is another delicious, high-quality wine from this team that over-delivers. Giving up lots of upfront fruit, a rounded, sumptuous texture, and classic cool-climate Syrah notes, it’s going to deliver the goods over the coming 4-5 years. (6/2019)

Deep ruby purple, the 2017 Syrah Santa Lucia Highlands gives notes of laurel, forest floor and smoked meats over a core of cassis, baked black cherry, blue fruits and red fruit sparks. It's full-bodied with dense, dark, spicy fruits and lovely savory/meaty accents, framed by firm, chewy tannins and just enough freshness to lift the dense finish. (EB) (2/2020)

For The Love of wine! This wine is a masterpiece. It is the result of teamwork between renowned winemaker Jeff Pisoni and Master Sommelier Sara Floyd. The wine is deep purple in color with abundant aroma of blueberries and violets with layers of complexity framed by firm but ripe tannins along with a hint of leather and clove. It was fermented with 50% whole cluster inclusion and was aged in 20% new oak for 18 months. This very special wine is beauty-in-a-bottle and is easily one of THE best $20 wines on the market.
