2010 Moone-Tsai Cor Leonis Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $225)

SKU #1430915 94 points Wine Spectator

Offers a strikingly rich, powerful and layered mix of dark berry, mocha-scented oak, dried herb, espresso and subtle tea and spice notes. Despite the diverse flavors and notable depth, this wows with finesse and nuance. (JL) (11/2013)

93 points Vinous

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cor Leonis is rich, exuberant and explosive. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and menthol notes all burst from the glass. Intense and resonant the 2010 is a great example of the year in its ripeness, power and pure structure. Firm yet well-integrated tannins support the generous, explosive finish. The 2010 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Spanos, Caldwell and To-Kalon, and it is the To-Kalon that seems particularly expressive today. (AG) (11/2013)

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

(bottled just before my visit): Bright, full medium ruby. Blueberry and menthol aromas are lifted by a floral topnote, with some toasty oak yet to be absorbed. Sweet and very concentrated, with a fine-grained texture and plenty of breadth to the dark berry, spice and menthol flavors. Big, structured cabernet with excellent grip. Finishes with building tannins and noteworthy rising length. Still a bit clenched following the bottling; this may well merit an even higher score with four to six years of cellaring. 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Corleonis, which is a multi-AVA blend from Pritchard Hill, Coombsville and Oakville, offers abundant notes of cedarwood, black currants, licorice and forest floor as well as background oak. Medium to full-bodied with moderate tannin and excellent balance, it should drink well for 15-20 years. (RP) (10/2013)

90 points Wine Enthusiast

This powerful Cabernet is bold in alcohol and ultra-ripe with fruit. The Port-like heat is balanced by luxurious cherry and black currant flavors, and lush new French oak that imparts a soft toastiness. It's hard to see the wine aging beyond 6–7 years, so decant it and enjoy soon. (2/2014)
