Decanter
An under-the-radar Pinot from the cool-climate Santa Lucia Highlands inn Monterey, California. This is light in texture, soft and smooth but with concentrated flavours of cherry, blackcurrant and oak spice. There's a sense of underlying power kept restrained by a juiciness and balanced minerality. I really like it. (GH)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The pale to medium ruby colored 2017 Pinot Noir Kali Hart was aged in 15% new oak. The nose offers cranberry jelly, red cherries, woodsmoke, turned earth, tree bark and moss scents with notions of citrus peel and amaro. Medium-bodied, it’s ultra silky in the mouth with great flavor intensity, walking a line between ripe fruits and earth character, with a gently grainy frame and great freshness, finishing lifted. Deep and dark aromas and flavors of dried strawberries and cherries follow through to a full body, juicy fruit and a one-dimensional and fruity finish. Underlying, solid tannins.

This bottling begins with aromas of cherry and berry along with wild mint and dried tarragon. Strong hits of licorice and star anise play well with the berry backdrop on the palate. *Editors’ Choice* (MK)

Vinous
Vivid red. Fresh red berry and rose aromas are sharpened by a peppery nuance that builds in the glass. Energetic, spice-laced raspberry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors steadily turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes silky and long, with a repeating red fruit note, a hint of smokiness and silky, slow-building tannins. (JR)
