Here is Luke Baxter, the maker's, own words: We have been making our own bitters at Bar Agricole since we opened in 2010. They are a crucial part of our bar program. We make the three most called for bitters from pre-prohibition era cocktail books: aromatic, orange and hibiscus. One of these three bitters is used in almost every drink served at Bar Agricole and our sister restaurants (Trou Normand, Obispo and Nommo). Our base spirit is a high proof neutral grape spirit from a biodynamic farm in Fresno. To that we add the best herbs, spices and botanicals that we can find. Shortly after we launched our syrup and bitters wholesale company, Bar Agricole won the James Beard award for outstanding bar program.
