K&L Notes

This is Jerome Trudon's smallest production Champagne, and we only recieved five cases of it for the US market. It is a combination of two vintages, and always spends more than six years on the lees. It is a brioche toast style of Champagne with plenty of dried fruit and vinous power behind it. To highlight the concentration of his best plots, it only has five atmospheres of pressure instead of the usual six. It is composed of half each Meunier and Chardonnay and the only one of his cuvée's to see oak. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

Cream and strawberries and dough and lilac and apple pie all mixed together in a behemoth of a champagne. As rich of wine as I tasted that day, but with an incredibly interesting undercurrent of flavor that keeps developing long after you empty the glass. I'm a big fan of Trudon and this is another reason why.

A tribute to wisdom through patience, Trudon’s Magnificence is composed of 60% wines from 2010 aged in oak barrels and 40% wines from 2011 in stainless and spent 6 years on the lees. For Champagne with this much age, the nose is airy, light and delicately floral. The palate presents sharp with lemon pith and apple skins. As expected for wine of this age, there are impressive savoy brioche notes, and the creamy texture on the palate is a luxury.

If you are looking for a truly unique style and story of Champagne, look no further than this bottling. Made from 60% 2010 reserve wine aged in barrel, and 40% 2011 reserve wine aged in stainless steel tank, this is the ultimate marriage of multiple styles coming together. The barrel aging plus at least 6 years on the lees makes this a rich, textured, creamy style of Champagne and would pair pretty phenomenally with any holiday meal plan.
