Medium to deep ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Pinot Noir Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard opens with notes of black raspberries, red currants and cranberry sauce with touches of fragrant earth, black pepper, dried mint and tobacco. Medium-bodied, refreshing and very tightly knit in the mouth, the fine-grained palate reveals fantastic energy with a long, mineral-laced finish. (LPB)

A big, rich styled effort from the Russian River Valley, the 2015 Pinot Noir Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard reveals a saturated ruby/purple color as well as a terrific perfume of black raspberries, tart cherries, spring flowers, and smoked earth. With bright acidity, good concentration, and a fresh, vibrant personality, I love its overall balance today, yet it's still going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and will keep for over a decade. It’s another terrific, age-worthy wine from this estate that’s well worth your time and money. 93+

Vinous
Succulent dark cherry, plum, cloves, lavender and licorice all give the 2015 Pinot Noir Lewis MacGregor Estate Vineyard its distinctive flavor profile. Deep, unctuous and concentrated, the Lewis MacGregor is also one of the most extroverted, plush wines in this range. Even so, there is plenty of supporting structure. (AG)

Distinct tones of cherry pit and cinnamon-clove define the aromatics of this wine. It's a relatively full-bodied style of the variety from the east side of the appellation. Succulent and fleshy, it offers an array of salty, savory notes and is appealing in its velvety texture and roundness. Cola, warm baking spices and orange peel add to the complexity. (VB)

This is the ripest wine to this point with evident menthol and eucalyptus elements to the poached plum, black cherry and raspberry liqueur-scented nose. The lush, round and succulent flavors possess good sap along with a velvety mouth feel, all wrapped in a dusty, markedly firm and mildly austere finale. This too is going to need at least a few years to unwind. *Outstanding*
