2018 Maçanita "em Rosé" Touriga Nacional Douro

SKU #1421916

Importer's notes: "Macanita’s Touriga Nacional em Rosé is an exuberant, juicy glass of summertime, crafted from the 'king of Portuguese grapes,' Touriga Nacional. Most often used to craft ripe, rich reds, in rosé form, Touriga showcases its floral and mineral side in exceedingly refreshing fashion. Minimal maceration and careful, slow cold fermentation yield a wine which is classic Touriga, yet completely new... Saturated rose-pink. On the nose, fresh crushed strawberries, bing cherries and cherry blossom aromas leap from the glass. On the palate, juicy and fresh, with beautiful texture and balance. Sour and Bing cherry, fresh and macerated strawberries, and a touch of white pepper spice all in abundance."

Portugal

- Although quite small, Portugal produces a great variety of wines ranging from light and fizzy Vinho Verde to hearty and tannic Port. Portugal is Europe's fourth-largest wine-producing region, and has been exporting its wine since the 14th century. The Douro Valley of Portugal is the original and current home for the world's finest Port. The valley spans from east of the city of Oporto all the way to the border of Spain and is the country's best known wine region. Lesser-appreciated DOCs like Bairrada and Dão area also emerging for their fine, rustic reds.
