2018 Graci Etna Rosato

SKU #1412121 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Graci's 2018 Etna Rosato boasts a pale pink color with mild highlights of copper and gold. The wine is slightly closed at the beginning (with a tiny touch of reduction that blows off) but opens eventually to reveal rose petal, cassis and cranberry. There is a touch of wild herb or dried basil leaf as well. (ML) (10/2019)

Copper-tinged yellow color. Vanilla, sweet herbs and balsamic oils complicate aromas and flavors of strawberry and fresh herbs. Zingy but harmonious acidity provides both clarity and cut on the long saline finish. (ID) (5/2019)

This is one of the very best Italian roses we feature every year and the 2018 does not disappoint. It's vibrant and flavorful with just the right balance of palate weight and crisp acidity. Delicious red fruits with a pleasant touch of mineral make this a very compelling wine. Great alone or with food.

We developed quite a following for the 2015 vintage of this wine, but the 2018 is even better. Loads of ├╝ber-pretty cherry, raspberry fruit burst on the nose and palate, but with lots of mineral quality of Mt. Etna. I feel it. A bottle of this could not be a more perfect introduction to the region. Made with Nerello Mascalese.
