2018 Reynon Blanc, Bordeaux

 This is a lovely, ripe-fruited wine from the Dubourdieu home estate, now vinified by his son Jean-Jacques. Touches of raspberry leaf make it a little more concentrated than some - this is one to enjoy young. The Doisy Daene, by the way, is the wine to go for in 2018 for Dubourdieu fans! (JA)  (3/2019)

 Lively herbal citrus, very herbal and Sauvignon-esque. And it is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, I discover/remember. Super-fresh but also has a really nice chalky texture on the finish, probably from time on the healthiest of lees. Bone dry and so fresh. (JH)  (3/2019)

 Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the Reynon 2018 Blanc is a little closed, soon revealing notes of fresh peach, peach blossoms and yellow apples with a waft of dried herbs. Medium-bodied with plenty of zesty flavors, it has a zippy line of freshness and a lifted finish. (LPB)  (4/2019)

This gem of a white wine from the Dubourdieu estate is what I like to call a classic Sauvignon Blanc. But not your typical Sauvignon Blanc. It’s got more depth on the nose and more body on the palate, but is still very fresh and crisp, and very much a Bordeaux white. This is a wine to impress those who think Sauvignon Blanc is just “the other white wine.” As for the food pairings, be bold. Think fresh pesto, tabbouleh, rich, creamy sauces with seafood, and of course, goat cheese. Yeah...delicious!
