SKU #1408989
Jeb Dunnuck
The 2017 Red Blend Scout's Honor checks in as a Zinfandel-dominated cuvée (63% Zinfandel, 16% Charbono,12% Petite Sirah, and 9% Syrah) and has Roussillon-like bouquet of black fruits, chalky minerality, chocolate, and violets. It's another sweetly fruited, sexy wine that stays firmly planted in the vintage yet has loads to love.

Wine Advocate
The 2017 Scout's Honor is blended of 63% Zinfandel, 16% Charbono, 12% Petite Sirah and 9% Syrah. Medium garnet-purple in color, the nose gives lifted notes of baked red and black cherries, dried mulberries and raspberry preserves with touches of sautéed herbs and mossy tree bark. The palate is full and intense with an herbal streak lifting the red and black fruit preserves, finishing chewy and a little rustic. (LPB)

K&L Notes
Winery notes: "We start with a base of old-vine Zinfandel from our Signal Fire Vineyard in Calistoga (where some of those vines have been producing for over 100 years!) and build upon that with dry-farmed Petite Sirah, old-vine Charbono, and finish with mountain-vineyard Syrah from the Stagecoach Vineyard. The result is an unpretentious red wine that will satisfy time and time again. Not just a fan-favorite, this wine honors our late winery dog, Scout."
