Sweet tobacco, dried cherry, anise, mint, orange peel and exotic spice all fill out in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. The Fausoni is the most expressive of the 2015s in this lineup. The Fausoni vineyard is located just outside the town of Neive and Rivella's Barbaresco reflects the elegance and spiciness this area is known for. His 2015 is subtle and spicy yet full with rich fruit and a substantial tannic frame. It's delicious now but will improve with a couple years in the cellar.

This is from one of my favorite producers who is working with the nebbiolo grape. He seems to bring out the best that this grape and region have to offer. It is classic with inviting and expressive aromas that lead to a full bodied wine.It is complex with fruit, earth, acid and tannins all coming together to make a delicious wine. It is on the young side but will open up with a few hours of decanting. This will go well with hearty foods.

An absolutely stunning example from this master. While the wine is just a baby right now, it's already showing extreme depth and unparalleled distinction. The 2015 is a scary one for lovers of acidity and structure, due to the heat and ripeness, but Guido has managed to produce a wine of great balance and restraint without losing his signature intensity. An absolute benchmark by any measure and exactly the type of Nebbiolo I like to sink my teeth into.
