More baked bread and brioche/melted butter flavors are present in this cask than all of the others. It's wonderfully sweet on the palate, but all spice and yeasty, crumbly bread on the nose. At 113.9 proof, its very accessible. With water it softens up even more and unlocks a shocking array of fruit notes, almost drinking like a Calvados.

What a treat this Rye is! Right off the bat, the nose is inviting, with aromas of banana flambée with caramelized sugar. Sitting next to your banana treat is a caramel latté garnished with a dash of nutmeg. The palate is anything but sweet, with spicy nutmeg and cardamom wrapped in a crispy dough pastry toasted to perfection. This Whistle Pig will have you whistling with delight after every sip! Go easy, eh, did I mention it's barrel proof at 57% abv!

The classic rye spice unabashedly shines through in this single barrel selection from Whistle Pig. The streak of sweetness present shows graham cracker and cinnamon notes, but there is a nice kick of pepper in the back palate to make this very interesting. With a little more power than the other barrels, this one shows a ton of character and life.

This Whistle Pig K&L single barrel is an interestingly spicy little number because for me it has a fire and ice quality. The nose gets going with cinnamon Red Hots mixed with menthol medicinal balm. The menthol blends excellently with a fresh-cut cedar aroma that grows the more I sniff the glass. Adding complexity, there are subtle scents of hay, caramel, and light fresh flowers. The palate is more austere, saline, and very dry. The caramel is all but gone here, having been chased away by wood-intensity and more floral flavors. Zippy spice comes back at the end and warms my entire mouth.
