2017 Domaine Dubois "Bonheur de Chardonnay" Bourgogne Blanc

SKU #1378038

The first traces of Dubois Vignerons appear around 1600 with the birth of Emiland Dubois. It is the first ancestor, and winemaker, found in official records. More recently, Louis Dubois (1874 - 1947) became the owner of his first parcel of vines in 1898, then developed the estate with 2 hectares of vines in the villages of Premeaux-Prissey and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Robert (1910 - 2004), his son, dedicates his life to the vineyards of the estate and continues to expand the area by acquiring his first parcel of Nuits 1er Cru in 1961. Régis Dubois (1943), takes over the torch with his wife Christiane and extends the farm from 4 to 10 hectares, up to 20 hectares. He began to value the wines by putting the production in bottle, as of 1969. Since 2006, the operation is managed by Raphaël and Béatrice Dubois. Raphaël develops the marketing of the wines of the domain and the public relations with the outside world. Beatrice, oenologist, is passionate about wine. She divides her time between winemaking, analysis and monitoring of the estate's wines, and customer tastings around the world that have replaced her vinification missions in the southern hemisphere.

Arriving just in time for the holiday season is this fabulous Bourgogne Blanc that really does represent the "bonheur de Chardonnay". Made with fruit grown in the village of Premeaux Prissey, which sits in the shadow of both Côte de Nuits and Nuits- St-Georges, this has a cheery personality with ripe apple aromas, fresh lemon on the palate, oak that is mildly present and very finely integrated, all wrapped up in a lengthy finish. This is a pretty darn good Bourgogne Blanc under $20, from one of our newest direct imports.
