A full and layered red with blackberry, blueberry and stone character. Some black tea, too. Full body, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. A big and muscular wine with classic Pomerol might. (2/2018)
The 2015 Maillet has ripe black cherries and raspberry coulis on the nose, nicely defined, not complex but nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, tarry black fruit and quite saline toward the finish. This is an interesting and characterful Maillet that should age with style. (NM) (2/2018)
