 (from a massive 5 ha parcel). A moderately exotic nose offers up notes of dried apricot and white peach along with good Chablis typicity. There is both excellent volume and mid-palate concentration to the mouth coating broad-shouldered flavors that exude evident minerality on the lemony, persistent and very dry but not really austere finale. This well-chiseled effort should drink well young and with 5 to 8 years of bottle age. Worth considering.  (10/2018)

Drinking this wine makes me feel like I'm outside on a sunny morning after a big snow storm, breathing in the cool, crisp air, and appreciating how everything smells and looks so clean. Bright notes of lemon rind, white nectarine, and crushed shells give this wine its beautiful aromatic qualities, invigorating acidity awakens the palate and the saline finish lingers on and on. This is a precise and pristine first-class Chablis.

What a pleasant surprise! This lovely Chablis is punching far above it's weight, and drinking more like a Grand Cru. There's a perfect combination of richness, weight and concentration that strikes a good balance with the crisp, citrus-driven mineral backbone of the wine. The finish is clean and strong, and I don't doubt that it has years of aging potential ahead.

Stunning! The 2016 Domaine Pinson Chablis 1er Cru "Mont de Milieu" easily competes with Grand Cru Chablis that are 2-3 times the price. Vivid aromas of lemon crème, hazelnuts, sea breeze and citrus zest whaff gracefully from the glass. The palate is electric with intense lemon, iodine, chalk and mineral notes. Complex and multi-faceted this is an ideal 1er Cru that punches way above its weight-class.

- It's hard to believe that up until about 30 years ago, this extremely popular varietal hid behind the veil of geographical names like Chablis and Puligny-Montrachet. Now grown all over the world and bottled by its varietal name, Chardonnay has achieved a level of branding unlike any other wine. Surprisingly, though, what you get when you buy Chardonnay can differ greatly from country to country and even within one country, depending on the climate where it's grown and how it is vinified and aged. From fresh, crisp and minerally with apple and lemon notes to rich and buttery with tropical fruit overtones, Chardonnay runs the gamut. In France's Burgundy, Chardonnay is the source of the prized wines of Chablis, Corton-Charlemagne, Mâcon, Meursault and Montrachet. It also the foundation of exceptional Champagne, where it is blended with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier or vinified on its own into Blanc de Blancs. It is also extremely popular in California, and is gaining popularity in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain and South Africa.
