This wonderful vintage Champagne is composed exclusively from old vine selection massal Pinot Meunier. The two plots it comes from are Les Chaillots, planted in 1970, and Les Jenne Craux, planted in in 1969. The dosage is kept low, at six grams per liter, and it has both power and also refreshment.

Underneath a bemusing nose lies a true gem from Champagne's miracle vintage. Despite low dosage, this 100% Pinot Meunier shows tremendous fruit atop light toast with a touch of salinity. Quince and kumquat play beautifully with roasted nuts in a delicate, luxurious texture. Whether accompanying cheese or a night with friends (or both), this splendid wine is a must-try. Snag one (or several) before they're gone.

I'm not a 100% Pinot Meunier champagne girl, but this one has caught my eye, or should I say my nose and palette? This is a red wine drinkers champagne with lots of red & black fruit on the nose and some savory notes in the mouth and a long finish.

This is a very elegant expression of a 100% Pinot Meunier champagne. It’s also a rather versatile champagne; I can see this being served for an apéritif or with food very easily! Food pairings that I think would be really fun are wide and varied, ranging from oysters to slow cooked pork, and everything in between and around those. The chalky texture that is indicative of Champagne comes through on the mid palette and finish, which is long and rich.

I just tasted this today at our staff tasting and it was completely unexpected. Not that we were tasting it but, that it did not taste at all like Pinot Meunier! The nose is creamy with pear fruit, white flowers and candied almonds. On the palate, at firs,t I thought of it as being "light" but, it fleshed out mid-palate, so it is really more medium bodied. Long, long finish with very solid minerality. We have had other Meunier-centric wineries produce lower dosage versions of this varietal but, the Gilbert is definitely the most affordable. The other wineries were also more traditional in their approach and this house is not. Thoroughly enjoyable!

Produced with 2 Pinot Meunier plots, each over 40 years old, this low dosage Brut has a lovely aromatic profile and a richer palate from the lees aging while still providing zippy acidity and a clean finish. Brioche and baked apples dominate the nose with a touch of chalky minerality. A fantastic vintage Champagne for everyday drinking.

100% Pinot Meunier never tasted better, with six years lees aging and a low dosage. Delicate aromas of underripe golden apple, leesy notes and marcona almond lead to a medium bodied, very fresh, energetic palate with zippy, focused acidity and a sustained, mineral driven finish.

When I first saw the Gilbert Jacquesson wines come in, I was excited to try them and thought to myself that if nothing else, the Jacquesson name is obviously a good one in the region! That said, this 2012 vintage Brut Champagne is fantastic, showing the pedigree of this top quality vintage as well as the intensity of nicely mature, massale selection Pinot Meunier. Bright and red fruited, with plenty of mineral drive and biscuity notes combining in this complete bottle of Champagne. Highly recommended.

The great 2012 vintage only yielded one press load of this sensational Champagne- 4000 bottles! This old vine, pure Meunier Champagne comes from two massal selected plots in Troissy. One was planted in 1969, the other in 1970. The wine has exquisite balance, with not only the spicy, pear fruit of the meunier variety, but also warm bread aromas and flavors from long ageing, and very nice focus and acidity. This Champagne is drier than most Meunier at less than 7g/l dosage. This rarity is a knock out from one of our smallest grower producers.

This Blanc de Noir, made entirely of massale selected Pinot Meunier planted by Gilbert’s mother back in the 60s and 70s, has a very pretty bright nose of pear, stone fruit, tangerine, flowers and exotic spice. It is equally expressive on the palate with a rich texture, incredible acidity, balance and an seemingly eternal finish. This is Meunier made as well as you might expect someone who was raised with the vines to make.
