Samuel Gelston's 25 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey (750ml) (Previously $400)

SKU #1354036

This magical whiskey is the result of decades of work from the illustrious Frank Chard. The Scotch Whisky Hall of Famer has been working in whisky distilling since 1963. He began his career at Invergordon and spent time at Bruichladdich and Tamnavulin. He became famous for his tenure at Springbank producing and bottling some of the most sought-after bottlings in the distillery's history. During his time there he presided over the re-introduction of Longrow and the creation of the triple distilled Hazelburn brand in 1997. The well-known whiskey celebrity, Mr. Frank McHardy, spent time at Bushmill's on the very northern coast of Ireland where he distilled this special whiskey 25 years ago. That distillery recently changed hands and allowed for a small amount of very old and very rare whiskey to be relinquished from their vast stocks. Thoughtful new owners enlisted Mr. Frank McHardy himself to blend the wonderful whiskey he'd laid down decades earlier into this tiny little masterpiece. Ultra tropical and complex, the tell tale qualities super high quality single malt that are almost non-existent on the market today. Easily one of the most exciting new offerings from the extremely hot Irish Whiskey category and with respect to quality and rarity an absolute bargain by any measure. Gelston's was founded in 1830 and was renowned as one of Ireland's top wine & spirits merchants. In 1869, the Neill family bought the assets and continues on with the brand five generations later.
