Jura is a small island off the west coast of Scotland, just north and east of Islay. It is only 28 miles long and 7.5 miles wide, with a population of 180 hardy souls. The Isle of Jura distillery is on the east coast of the island, in the southern region. It is known for the soft water and sea air, which shows in the whisky. As Mr. Tait mentioned when he was here, they are known as the "Highland Malt on the Island."
