Azteca Azul Blanco Tequila (1L)

SKU #1347177

Azteca Azul is produced by one of the finest highland distillers in the world, Tequila Supremo. Known commercially as Casa Camarena, the famous house was established by Augustin Camarena in 1938. The prominent agave-growing family founded the town of Arandas and multiple distilleries. The woman who runs the distillery, Dona Elena Herrera Orendain, is Tequila royalty. The great great granddaughter of Don Jose Cuervo, she's built Casa Camarena into Jalisco's fourth largest distiller that you've never heard of. Despite their size their committment to quality is unparalleled. Azteca Azul is a 100% pure blue agave matured a minimum of 8 years on of one of the Camarena's 18 agave growing estates. The agave is cooked and cooled in traditional brick ovens before being twice distilled on steel, then copper stills. Tequila Supremo has also developed a process known as "Zero D," which ensures that the distillery emits no waste by composting and recycling every possible waste product throughout the process. Tequila Supremo was the first tequila producer to be 100% environmentally friendly, but their committment to sustainability doesn't come at the expense of quality or increased cost to the consumer. Easily one of the best values in tequila and quickly becoming our staff's go-to blanco for sipping, mixing, parties, gifting and life in general.

The quality here is quite high with agave purity and fragrance. It's my perfect bottle for making a fruit margarita or fanciful cocktail when the expression of a more expensive bottle would largely be lost, but I still want it to taste like good tequila with earthy and clean agave character. Makes a lot of sense, right? Suddenly I have an urge to boil up some prickly pear syrup.

This is definitely the tequila you should grab for mixing up cocktails at your next summer soiree. Or for sipping at poker night. Or shots at the club. Or for your Sunday brunch Bloody Maria. Basically, if you need tequila, this should be on your radar. The quality and pedigree is exceptional. The taste is wonderful. The texture is luscious. And best of all: the price is obscenely low!

This Tequila has a lot going for it offering both value and flavor. In the nose there are the bright citrus aromas from the agave. In the mouth this continues with nice citrus and spice flavors that are expressive and full bodied. This will be the perfect Tequila for cocktails.

Coming from a bartending background, in Texas no less, this is exactly the type of product I wish I could have gotten my hands on for margaritas. From undeniable pedigree, this is a perfect mixing Blanco. Big rich fruit hits the nose immediately reassuring you of all that agave goodness in the bottle. The palate is surprisingly clean and light with a touch of earth and spice. This taste, for this price, in this size bottle is basically a bartending dream come true.
