The base 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon isn’t far behind the Wight Vineyard release and offers similar blue and black fruits, gorgeous notes of graphite, lead pencil and cedar, full-bodied richness, and ripe, present tannin. (12/2017)
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa has all that – a nice soft underbelly with finely grained, silky tannins, full body, loads of black fruits and an enticing set of aromatics. Consistently excellent wines emanate from Dave Wight under the Lewelling label. I have said this many times in the past, but they are reminiscent of a classy Pauillac, such as Pontet-Canet, given their licorice and pure crème de cassis fruit. (RP) (10/2016)
