2007 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Chase Creek" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

SKU #1334736

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars was founded in the early 1970s by the Winiarski family on land that would eventually become part of the Stags Leap AVA in Napa Valley, California. The Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend had its first vintage in 1972, and rose to rapid fame in 1976 when it beat out the likes of Mouton-Rothschild and Haut-Brion at the blind Judgement of Paris tasting that is widely credited with putting California's wine industry on the map. Winery note: "Dark garnet in color, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers layered aromas of black cherry, blackberry jam, cocoa powder, nutmeg and smoky oak. These inviting aromas carry over on the broad palate and deliver sweet black cherry, blueberry, milk chocolate, cola and a touch of black licorice. The wine finishes with lingering flavors of plum and cherry along with refreshing acidity and the smoothness of fine-grained tannins. Enjoy this Cabernet Sauvignon with duck breast accompanied by cherry sauce or rack of lamb with rosemary."
