La Chablisienne is the largest producer in all of Chablis, possibly accounting for up to 35% of the entire production in Chablis. This cooperative has transcended the conventional cooperative model and has become a reference-point producer for numerous Chablis vineyards. To still be able to offer several 2014 vintage Chablis from one of the greatest white Burgundy vintages ever is a treat.

Bright and beautiful, this is a wonderful example of what Chablis has to offer at incredible prices! La Chablisienne is a rather large Co-Op that produces a number of fantastic wines from village level, all the way to Grand Cru. the nose is laden with citrus, limestone, and restrained tropical notes. The palate is clean, driven by notes of green apple, lemon, and a long mineral driven finish. You will be hard pressed to find another premier cru this delightful and approachable in this price range!

An incredibly approachable offering sourced from the Beauroy vineyard which sits to the north of the Côte de Léchet vineyard. Gorgeous citrus-laden fruit mingles seamlessly with mineral and wet stone accents to produce an intoxicatingly good Chablis.

This is my favorite of the Chablisienne offerings, bar none. I was really shocked by the powerful punch of acidity that really controls the wine and sizzles down the palate, yet still maintains some of those slightly rounded out edges that you see across the board from Chablisienne. Tons of aromatics, restrained fruit, and biting acid this is a classic Chablis that would pair beautifully with cheese, fish, or even sushi. Really impressed by this.

A 1er Cru for under $30? That's right! I've really enjoyed all of the wines I've tried from La Chablisienne, and this is the freshest of the 1er Cru offerings. There's a lime/lime leaf citrus quality and a wet stone type of mineral note. Super crisp and refreshing, this would fit right in with freshly shucked oysters.

None of the 2014 Chablis wines from La Chablisienne have disappointed me so far. They are all fantastic! But considering price of this 1er Cru I would say it's by far the best value and my favorite Chablis. It's practically perfect. If you love juicy bright citrus, crunchy minerality and fresh acidity that wakes up your whole palate, this Chablis is for you.

The lightest and cleanest of the three Premier Cru Chablisienne we are carrying the 204 Beauroy is a lovely bottle of wine. Bright citrus fruits are met with some flashy minerality and cutting acid. Minerality drives this wine and helps it to finish strong, however all of the have a beautiful balance and poise.

Chardonnay

- It's hard to believe that up until about 30 years ago, this extremely popular varietal hid behind the veil of geographical names like Chablis and Puligny-Montrachet. Now grown all over the world and bottled by its varietal name, Chardonnay has achieved a level of branding unlike any other wine. Surprisingly, though, what you get when you buy Chardonnay can differ greatly from country to country and even within one country, depending on the climate where it's grown and how it is vinified and aged. From fresh, crisp and minerally with apple and lemon notes to rich and buttery with tropical fruit overtones, Chardonnay runs the gamut. In France's Burgundy, Chardonnay is the source of the prized wines of Chablis, Corton-Charlemagne, Mâcon, Meursault and Montrachet. It also the foundation of exceptional Champagne, where it is blended with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier or vinified on its own into Blanc de Blancs. It is also extremely popular in California, and is gaining popularity in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain and South Africa.

- The region north of the Cote d'Or, famous for its steely dry white wines made from Chardonnay. There are 7 Grands Crus vineyards, and numerous Premier Crus. Unfortunately, the name has been borrowed and badly abused by producers of inferior white wines in the US as well as in Australia. True French Chablis is a delicate, stony, crisp Chardonnay, bearing no resemblance to the anonymous plonk so labeled here.
