Edinburgh "Seaside" Gin (750ml)

SKU #1306240

The pride of downtown Edinburgh is now the joy of the K&L gin department. Once contracted from London, today the complete line of Edinburgh gin is distilled either underground at the eponymous Edinburgh Gin Distillery, or at the recently opened second distillery at The Biscuit Factory in the historic port of Leith. Focusing entirely on gin, the company recently merged with Ian Macleod of Tamdhu, Glengoyne, and Chieftain's fame to resurrect Scotland's great distillation traditions. The "Seaside" expression is distilled with foraged seaweed, scurvy grass, and ground ivy from the Scottish coast, boasting a sweet yet refreshing salinity.

This is a fresh gin with a mild juniper nose, alpine sage, slight moss and stone fruits. A super clean and well put together botanical gin. This is easily enjoyed with tonic and a lime wedge!

This bottling uses some very interesting botanicals, ground ivy, bladderwrack seaweed, and scurvy grass just to name a few. The liquid texture has some great granularity while the flavors themselves consist of some mild minerality and lemon zest, the juniper isn't very pronounced on the nose but it definitely shines on the palate. This would be a fantastic gin for a martini, or enjoyed on the rocks!
