From a vintage that's drinking nicely today, the 2007 Château Barde-Haut offers a medium to full-bodied, rounded, plush and supple style to go with the classic dark fruits, spice, leather, and tobacco notes that always seem to be present in the wine. While fully mature, the tannins are polished, and it has plenty of mid-palate depth and a great finish.

The 2007 Barde-Haut shows more fruit concentration than the 2005 or 2006: blackberry, black plum and touches of blueberry, hints of marjoram and Seville orange marmalade. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This is smooth in texture and lightly spiced towards the finish that exerts a gentle grip, touches of pencil lead on the aftertaste. This is à point, a success in the context of the growing season. Tasted at the Barde-Haut vertical at the château.
