Four Roses categorizes their Bourbons by provenance, mashbill and yeast strain. A designation of "O" means that the Bourbon was produced at their distillery, and a designation of "S" means that it's a straight Bourbon. An "E" mashbill is 75% corn, 20% rye, and 20% malted barley. A "B" mashbill is 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley. The five proprietary yeas strains used by Four Roses are: "V" - light fruitiness, light vanilla, caramel and creamy; "K" - light spiciness, light caramel, and full bodied; "O" - rich fruitiness, light vanilla, caramel, and full bodied; "Q" - floral; and "F" - herbal. This blend is 12-year-old Bourbon from Four Roses’ OESO recipe, a 12-year-old OBSV and a 16-year-old OESK.
