Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A brilliant effort is the 2012 Cabernet Franc (83% Cabernet Franc and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 18 months in 40% new French oak). This beauty reveals plenty of forest floor, mulberry, black cherry and incense scents. The complex aromatics are followed by a medium to full-bodied, beautifully rich wine that is never heavy or overbearing. (RP)

Wine Enthusiast
Although the fine mountain site straddles both Napa and Sonoma, this wine's fruit is all Sonoma, the bulk of it Cabernet Franc, with 17% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dried cranberry shows on the nose and palate, followed by chalky tannins and a refined use of oak, finishing in a bite of currant and cherry. Enjoy through 2017. *Cellar Selection* (VB)

Vinous
A big, dark wine, the 2012 Cabernet Franc possesses gorgeous depth. Mocha, blackberry jam, cloves and leather all wrap around the super-expressive finish. The Cabernet Franc offers the early approachability of the year along with a bit more structure than the Merlot. As always, there is a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, 17% in this vintage.
