2010 Domaine Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Grèves 1er Cru "Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus"

SKU #1242463 93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound

Noticeable though not overt wood influence sets off a very ripe nose composed of liqueur of plum, cassis and wild raspberry aromas. There is excellent richness to the round and relatively powerful medium weight flavors blessed with an abundance of dry extract that buffers the otherwise very firm, long and serious finish. This is also notably austere and extremely compact at present and as such it seems reasonably clear that it will not be a good candidate for early drinking. Drink: 2020+. *Don't Miss! Outstanding* (4/2012)

91 points Wine Spectator

A spice-infused red, with a cherry core. Dense and well-structured, picking up savory and mineral elements on the finish. The tight structure needs time to resolve. (BS) (4/2013)

90 points Wine & Spirits

Bouchard owns close to ten acres in this gravelly clay and limestone vineyard, producing a wine that often needs a decade from the vintage to show itself completely. Tannins dominate the wine for now, smoky, rich and mineral-inflected, while strawberry-scented fruit adds its clean red hue to the finish and lasts. For the cellar. (10/2012)

Jancis Robinson

Roots go down as far as eight metres. Still a hint of blue in the colour here. Very lifted and aromatic. Polished and sophisticated. Lots of sweet fruit but with a much finer texture. Very complete and already open. One of the finest, most elegant reds from this address. (11/2011)
