Wet rocks and graphite on the nose with almost violet floral notes plus a touch of oak, Cecilio Negre is a big wine with nice acidity and a long finish. This shows a more modern side of Priorat but retains everything you love about schist-grown Garnacha in a fruit-forward, high-scoring blend.

Grenache dominate, this wine highlights some of the best qualities in this grape. Exuberant berry fruit aromas give way to a juicy, fun, but surprisingly complex palate. The fruit strikes a nice balance--expressing the plush, luxurious side of Grenache while retaining good form. The acidity reins in the soft berry fruit, and the tannins are quite smooth and ripe. There is also a good sense of earth here, hovering in the background and defining the wine.

If you're a fan of California reds and haven't checked out the wines of Priorat, you really should! This wine has plentiful dark berry fruit and an opulent mid-palate presence, but is reined in nicely by its acidity and soft tannin structure. I was most impressed by the lengthy finish. If this wine is representative of the direction Priorat is headed in, the future is bright!

Devotees of big, robust wine will need to look no further. This is a generous giant, ripe with big dark fruit flavors, dried tobacco leaves and spice. Pair this up with a saucy rack of baby back ribs for an awesome easy-drinking Superbowl party treat!

Big, bold, and bombastic coming out of Priorat this is a wine to take notice of. Tons of ripe fruit from the Cab and Grenache are immediate on the palate with hints of licorice, tobacco, and spice. Great for big dinners and parties.

You've opened your inbox, clicked on this email, and have even gone through the effort of reading this offer, so I might as well tell you: this is real Priorat! It has both power and freshness, fruit intensity and minerality. While it's lovely out the gate, I have found with Celler Cecilio's Negre that it shows incredibly well on day two, which is a good indication for cellaring some bottles if you so choose. This is a terrific example of the greatness of the 2013 vintage in Priorat, and the evolving style of this exciting, dynamic region. Highly recommended.
