Alexander Jules Fino "4/65" Jerez de la Frontera

SKU #1236281 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Showing as well or even better than the first bottling, the June 2017 version of the NV Fino 4/65 had more marked Fino character, having been selected from specific barrels of the soleras and criaderas of Fino Camborio from Juan Piñero, which contain wine from Macharnudo and Añina (some 30%). It's a textbook old Fino, pungent, saline and intense, with a powerful palate and great persistence. 1,600 50-milliliter bottles were filled in late June 2017. I'd love to see how this wine develops in bottle. (LG) (12/2017)

K&L Notes

An incredibly elegant series of barrel-selected Sherries, personally chosen by Alex Russan, a passionate Sherry evangelist. Alex's belief that Sherry can be amongst the most complex, versatile, and deeply satisfying of all wines, particularly when they are carefully selected, blended, and minimally processed, is one with which we here completely agree. This Fino is fresh and lively enough to pair with savory foods as well as delicate desserts.
