2010 San Felice "Campogiovanni" Brunello di Montalcino

SKU #1232213 96 points James Suckling

Outer quote mark Perfect aromas to this red with licorice, stone, peach pit, plum, leather and iron. Full body, fine, silky tannins that support a deep, rich fruit concentration showing black fruit, Tuscan dust and oyster shell. Needs four or five years to soften but an amazing finish. Inner quote mark (1/2015)

95 points Wine Spectator

Outer quote mark Black cherry, black currant, cedar and tobacco flavors highlight this firm, dense red. Has the fruit, structure and harmony to develop, along with a lingering wild herb and mineral aftertaste. Juicy finish. Best from 2018 through 2033. (BS) Inner quote mark (5/2015)

93 points Vinous

Outer quote mark Dark red cherries, mocha, smoke, new oak, tobacco and spices are some of the notes that flesh out in the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino from Campogiovanni. Fleshy and seductive on the palate, the 2010 possesses terrific depth, richness and volume, all in a round, supple style that offers plenty of near and medium-term appeal. This is an excellent choice for drinking over the next decade or so. (AG) Inner quote mark (2/2015)

The nose is deeply layered, with a chocolate cherry character showing hints of spice, earth, tobacco, leather; very complex. On the palate, a bit of tannic structure routes the wine, giving that luscious richness direction and focus. The finish shows plummy fruit, leather and bits of Tuscan dust.
Drink from 2015 to 2022
