Connoisseurs Guide
Taking its place at the top of the Williams Selyem roster of outstanding 2013 Pinots, this lovely offering exhibits the uncanny combination of riveting richness and grace that only the finest renditions of the varietal can. It is at once both solid and genuinely elegant stuff with great vigor and verve and a sense of seamless integration from beginning to end. As is the case with so many of the winery's youthfully charming releases, it is a wine of so much immediate appeal that waiting will not come easy, but even a bit of patience will pay dividends as it gains complexity over time. *Three Stars*

Wine Enthusiast
From the hillsides of Westside Road, a goldmine of goodness, this estate-driven wine is packed with cinnamon, black-cherry clafouti and crushed rose petals. Soft and seductively silky on the palate, it's bright and deceptively light, a symphony of pomegranate, cardamon and blood orange that lingers on the finish. *Editors' Choice* (VB)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2013 Pinot Noir Williams Selyem Estate has a complex, almost DRC-like forest floor nose with raspberry, black cherry, and floral notes. Full-bodied and ripe, it gets my highest marks as the most profound of the 2013 Pinot Noirs from Williams Selyem. This full-bodied classic should age effortlessly for 15+ years. (RP) 94+

Vinous
One of the highlights in this range, the 2013 Pinot Noir Williams Selyem Estate Vineyard is deep, powerful and authoritative, with serious thrust and energy. Tobacco, leather, dried herbs, licorice and smoke wrap around a core of dark-fleshed fruit. Deceptively medium in body, the 2013 packs a serious punch. It should age effortlessly for a decade-plus. The Estate is by far the most reticent and structured of the Russian River Pinots in this range. (AG) 93+

Complex, featuring a mix of anise, black licorice, sandy earth, smoky oak, blackberry and currant flavors, all running deep and persistent. Long on the finish, with well-integrated tannins. (JL)
