2002 Dyer Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon

SKU #1200496 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

From a tiny 2.2-acre vineyard owned by Bill and Dawnine Dyer, this blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot is a foreboding, austere, Bordeaux-styled 2002 revealing high tannins and a certain leanness to its personality. The color is a healthy dark ruby/purple and the wine is well-made and elegant, but it appears to lack flesh and concentrated fruit. It will certainly last for another 10-15+ years.... (RP) (6/2012)

K&L Notes

The winery's tasting notes on release: "Black cherry, licorice, and violets, with hints of sandalwood and cocoa. An elegantly structured wine; soft balance, firm tannins, and great length."
