2012 Carter "Weitz Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

SKU #1200277 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard is a showy, forward, delicious effort in keeping with the luxurious nature of the 2012 vintage. The tannins are ripe, and the wine shows lots of blue and black fruits as well as a full-bodied, opulent mouthfeel. While it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is reminiscent of a great Pomerol given its succulence and lushness. Enjoy it over the next 10-15 years. (RP) (10/2014)

Deliciously pure, rich and layered, with dark berry, mocha, plum and cassis notes at the core, supported by firm and dense, yet supple, tannins that let the fruit flavors gush through. Picks up black licorice, sage and loamy, dusty earth accents toward the end. The finish sails on. Drink now through 2030. (JL) (10/2015)

Dark red cherry, plums, crushed rocks, spices and menthol are all laced together in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard. Pliant, creamy and layered in the glass, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Weitz Vineyard possesses gorgeous radiance and texture. Sweet floral and spice notes add lift on the finish. This is a terrific debut from Mark Carter. Weitz is one of the most intriguing vineyards in Oakville. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how things develop over the coming years.
