Impeccably balanced and extremely elegant, this opens with a multifaceted fragrance of perfumed berry, crushed blue flower, menthol, baking spice and just a hint of new leather. The graceful palate offers layers of succulent wild cherry, white pepper, licorice, mint and eucalyptus alongside firm, polished tannins and fresh acidity. It's sleek and already tempting but hold for complexity. *Editors' Choice* (KO)

Offers a combination of power and elegance, with a racy feel. Notes of wild cherry, strawberry and rose, with leafy, woodsy flavors, permeate this driving red. The finish is long, but this needs time to shed the tannins. Well-defined from start to finish. *Highly Recommended, #6 of Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2014* (BS)

Wonderful aromas of dried orange peel, cedar and cherries. Some coffee too. Full body with silky tannins and a long finish. A beautiful single-vineyard Chianti Classico.

Compared to the 2011 vintage, the 2010 Chianti Classico Vigneto Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is a wine of good depth and focus thanks to the cooler vintage. The bouquet shows standard Chianti Classico aromas of bright fruit and cherry with offbeat tones of Pecorino cheese rind and white chocolate thrown into the mix. In the mouth, it shows extraction and power. (ML)

Vinous
A drop-dead gorgeous beauty, the 2010 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is laced with expressive dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco, mint and licorice. There is a lot going on in the glass. The 2010 boasts exceptional purity in its flavors, along with superb textural elegance and phenomenal overall balance. What a gorgeous wine this is. I imagine the 2010 will drink nicely for many years, but it could use more time in bottle. In 2010, Ama did not bottle their single-vineyard selections. All the best fruit went here. (AG) 92+

Bright medium red-ruby. Pretty aromas of dark cherry, violet, coffee and sexy spices. Suave and fine-grained, with pliant black and red berry and floral flavors nicely framed by harmonious acidity. The firmly structured finish features lingering notes of dark plum, redcurrant and sexy oak, along with mounting, slightly tough tannins and a very strong earthy note. Cellar this for at least five years to allow it to smooth out. (ST) 91+
