Wonderful aromas of ripe fruit such as plums and grilled meat. Then it shows a fresh soil and sliced mushroom. It's full body, with super silky tannins and beautiful fruit. Balanced and spicy on the finish. A beauty. Drink or hold.

Aromas and flavors of underbrush augment the cherry and strawberry flavors in this supple, delicate red. Balanced in a linear, tensile way, picking up mineral accents on the lingering, mouthwatering finish. Best from 2019 through 2035.

Mario Bollag's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino does a great job of presenting bold fruit flavors with bright cherry and redcurrant in pole position. The delivery is also of special note: The wine feels exceedingly smooth and silky on the close with fresh acidity and loads of berry freshness. It presents a very appealing style with streamlined intensity that is both bright and long lasting. Among the many Brunello wines on the market today, this one will appeal to those who appreciate a finer, more feminine expression. (ML)

Aromas of violet, plum, savory herb and a hint of toasted oak lead the nose. The rich palate delivers ripe wild cherry, crushed raspberry, coffee, vanilla and mocha alongside velvety tannins. It’s ripe, round and already almost accessible. Drink 2017–2025.
