2012 Siduri "Garys' Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

SKU #1181552 93 points Wine Spectator

A striking Pinot that gushes with pure, ripe, snappy wild berry, blackberry, raspberry and blueberry flavors, cascading on firm tannins and snappy acidity. A remarkably youthful and vibrant effort that promises to reward cellaring and gain in the future, ending with a burst of floral and berry accents. Best from 2015 through 2024. (10/2014)

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Bright ruby. Black raspberry, spicy oak and a sexy floral nuance on the highly perfumed nose. Smooth and seamless in texture, offering sweet red berry liqueur and cherry-cola flavors and notes of candied flowers and vanilla. Finishes silky and very long, with slow-building tannins and lingering florality. (11/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Showing a little rough around the edge, with a mid-weight, straightforward feel, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard has juicy black cherry, licorice, pepper, pine resin and underbrush aromas and flavors. There’s a touch of volatility here, and while it will be better with another 6-12 months in bottle, it lags the other efforts from the Santa Lucia Highlands. (JD) (10/2014)

Black cherries, tobacco, earthiness and grilled herbs flesh out in the glass. The 2012 shows lovely depth in its blue/blackish fruit, but some angular contours remain. It will be interesting to see if things come together a bit more fully in bottle. (7/2014)
