2010 des Annereaux, Lalande-de-Pomerol

SKU #1168257 92 points Wine Enthusiast

Outer quote mark *Cellar Selection* Rich while also structured, this is beginning to be delicious. Acidity comes from the black currant fruits while the structure shows dense tannins and wood-aging flavors. The wine is still young and prepared for a long haul, so don’t drink before 2018. Inner quote mark (12/2014)

K&L Notes

Its Cabernet Franc component shines through on the nose, which also displays incredibly pretty strawberry and raspberry fruit, chocolate and tobacco notes, which carry over to the palate and grow darker. Try with a t-bone steak.

Fresh, affordable Bordeaux that's made from organically grown grapes to boot? Sign me up! We tasted some pretty high-class wine today, but this $20 gem was one of my favorites. Its Cabernet Franc component shines through on the nose, which also displays incredibly pretty strawberry and raspberry fruit, chocolate and tobacco notes, which carry over to the palate and grow darker. Good acidity, well-integrated tannins. Really delightful.
