2011 Booker "Oublie 22" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (Previously $80)

SKU #1150794 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Looking at the 2011s still in barrel, the extended barrel aged 2011 Oublie 22 will see, you guessed it, 22 months in barrel prior to bottling. More bright and lifted than the regular bottling, with plenty of violet, cherry, crushed berry, cedar and spice, it has a rich, full texture, good acidity and impressive length. It, too, should have upwards of a decade of longevity. (8/2013)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

(38% syrah, 23% counoise, 20% mourvedre and 10% grenache; no new oak and 14.5% alcohol): Inky purple. Smoky black and blue fruit scents pick up an elegant floral element with air. Juicy, penetrating blueberry and bitter cherry flavors display very good energy and put on weight with air. Notes of succulent herbs and Indian spices come up on the finish, which is framed by smooth, harmonious tannins.
