**Editors' Choice** This is the winery’s basic Cabernet, a blend of five vineyards on the mountain. It’s a smooth, elegant, classic mountain Cab, that’s dry and tannic, with delicious blackberry, currant and sweet-smoky oak flavors. It’s right up there with Von Strasser’s vineyard-designated wines that cost nearly twice as much, which makes it a great value.

This is a sleek, supple, savory Cabernet with black tannins that last. It’s more about richness than Diamond Mountain character, holding to a clean line. A fat, finely made Napa Valley red.

Wine Advocate
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec and 4% Merlot, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain is the least expensive wine in this portfolio. A soft, easygoing, richly fruity Cabernet, it offers black cherry and black currant fruit, moderate depth, light tannins and decent acidity. Consume it over the next decade. (RP)
