2010 Fourcas Hosten, Listrac

SKU #1144312 91 points Wine Enthusiast

Outer quote mark Now at its peak, this is a rich, full-bodied wine. It has a fine blend of dark tannins and dense plum and berry fruits. Maturing well, the wine is well balanced, with a smoky edge and still with a touch of acidity. *Editors' Choice* (RV) Inner quote mark (9/2016)

90 points James Suckling

Outer quote mark Lovely aromas of flowers and berries follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Inner quote mark (3/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark The Fourcas-Hosten 2010 has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, warm gravel and cedar scents that are nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of supple black fruit on the entry, nicely judged acidity and a pleasing rounded finish with good weight and structure. (NM) Inner quote mark (3/2014)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Outer quote mark Opaque inky-purple. Delicate floral aromas of violet and lavender perk up richer black cherry, licorice, and graphite elements. Fresh and juicy, with a rather cool character and good definition to its gently extracted cherry flavor. Finishes moderately long and firm, with mounting but fine tannins. (ID) Inner quote mark (5/2011)

Wine Spectator

Outer quote mark Taut, with a lightly chalky frame to the core of tobacco leaf, plum skin and steeped cherry fruit. Keeps a sinewy edge through the finish. (JM, Web-2013) Inner quote mark

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot,. Aged for 12 months in 1/3 new barriques. Cassis and coffee notes, medium body, with structured tannins. The wine is ready to drink in my opinion.

Not a secret that this is a wonderful vintage in Bordeaux! With that being said, you can imagine what an amazing treat is awaiting you. medium body with generous dark berry fruits and plum, a hint of acidity, gentle tannins and a round smooth finish. Drink now since it is in its prime.
