Extremely fresh and floral with sliced apples, stones and some white peach. Bread dough, too. Fine bead. Medium to full body with crisp acidity and a steely finish. Hints of phenolics provide a fine texture. Vibrant acidity. About 15% reserve wine (mostly chardonnay) in this, from five vintages. 2.5 years on the lees. 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir.

The iconic Quartet (UK label) blend of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) with two years in contact with the lees. From fog-shrouded Anderson Valley this shows supreme elegance, balance and poise. Pale straw colour. Attractive notes of citrus fruits, fresh dough, cashew nuts, star fruit, Mirabelle plum and fresh biscuits on the nose. The palate dry with a lovely creamy texture, amazing finesse and sophistication, followed by an assertive and refreshing finish. (DVJ)

An enticing, toasty, nutty aroma leads to crisp and complex flavors in this medium-bodied wine that is braced by good acidity and a fine bead of bubbles. Subtle, mature notes complement the elegant texture. (JG)

The NV Estate Brut is scented of sour lemon, almonds and biscuits with flinty touches. The medium-bodied palate is rounded and creamy with bright, lemony character and a long, mineral-driven finish. (EB)

The current release of Roederer Estate non-vintage Brut is composed from its customary blend of sixty percent chardonnay and forty percent pinot noir, with only a small percentage of the vins clairs going through malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for two years-plus sur latte and was finished with a dosage of twelve grams per liter. The wine offers up a deep and complex nose of apple, white peach, fresh-baked bread, a complex base of soil tones, a hint of smokiness and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied and complex, with a superb core of fruit, lovely mineral drive and cut, frothy mousse and a long, well-balanced and quite classy finish. The addition of reserve wines in the blend here give it more complexity than probably any other non-vintage Brut produced in California. This is very good juice.

60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir. 100% estate-grown fruit. pH 3.1, 12 g/l dosage, aged a minimum of two years on the lees. Only the cuvée (first pressing of 120 gallons/ton) is used. There is one base year in the blend and three to seven other vintages for consistency. For this year's bottling the base is 2017 with 12% reserve wine. Fermented in stainless steel at 65 °F. Minimal MLF. 80,000 cases produced. Meyer lemon, lemon verbena, a touch of tarragon, sharp, mineral, green apple, bitter lemon-peel aroma, orange oil, riper palate with ripe citrus and chalk, fine mousse with a bit of spice and toastiness. Quite lovely for an entry-level bottling. 17/20 points. *Quite Good Value* (SCJ)

K&L Notes
Founded in 1982 as the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, Roederer Estate builds upon a centuries-old tradition of fine winemaking. Roederer Estate's sparkling wines are produced using only grapes from the winery's own vineyards. Carrying on the tradition of Champagne Louis Roederer in France, special cask-aged reserve wines are added to each blend.
