2010 Poujeaux, Moulis

SKU #1133162 92 points James Suckling

Aromas of blueberries and raspberries with hints of flowers. Full body, with fine tannins and a clean, fresh finish. (2/2013)

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Full red-ruby. Bright aromas of dark raspberry, licorice, minerals and espresso are lifted by a floral high note. Juicy, spicy and sharply delineated, with excellent energy to the ripe, complex flavors of dark berries, lead pencil and spices. This very fresh wine shows a very firm spine to support a leisurely evolution in bottle without coming across as austere today. An excellent and serious Poujeaux. (ST) (8/2013)

91 points Wine Spectator

Dark and enticing, with a subtle smoky frame around the core of mulled plum, black currant and blackberry fruit. The long, graceful finish is inlaid with flecks of charcoal, black tea and singed sandalwood. (JM) (3/2013)

89-91 points Wine Enthusiast

Solid, chunky wine, with a fine juicy element showing through in the aftertaste. It has weight, structure, a dense texture, and balance. (RV) (6/2011)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The final blend in this vintage was 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, tipping the scales at 14% natural alcohol. The wine is outstanding. Rich black raspberry and black currant fruit intermixed with some graphite and floral notes are followed by an opulent, fleshy, full-bodied wine with impressive concentration, texture and length. (RP) (2/2013)

This is a beautiful wine, and drinking well now. Poujeaux is one of my favorite properties, and the 2010 is no exception. The lovely intense black fruit on the palate plus the elegant violet and graphite on the nose are utterly compelling. It's really hit it's stride with just a subtle element of savory development coming into play and complementing the still vibrant dark fruit. Although I enjoy how this wine is showing now, I do think it will continue to grow in complexity, and could be enjoyed for several more years.

A fantastic wine from a great vintage. The 2010 Poujeaux is a classic Bordeaux with energy, structure and balance. It is focused and full bodied with red fruit flavors, rounded out with notes of earth and a crisp finish. This wine will be best with hearty foods.
