The 2009 Pinot Noir Aidan Wildrose Vineyard is layered with sweet rose petals, new leather, licorice, sweet herbs and dark raspberries. It shows tremendous richness, power and grace in a refined style that is highly appealing. Floral notes reappear to frame the close. This is a slightly brighter wine than the Eoin. (AG)

Connoisseurs Guide
Finding a favorite from DuMOL's annual roster of new Pinots is always a difficult, if happy, task, and this year the"aidan" wins applause for its striking combination of deep fruit, vitality and keen composition. It is ripe without being too much of a good thing, and its fruit possesses a certain purity that we find in the very best Pinots of its provenance, but there is also a sense of structure and youthful restraint that points the way to far better yet if its considerable early charms can be resisted for another three to five years. *Two Stars*

Vinous
Ruby-red. Ripe cherry and Asian spice aromas become smokier with air and pick up a licorice accent. Peppery and sharply focused, offering intense bitter cherry and spicecake flavors given depth by a hint of dark chocolate. Rich but quite lively, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering spiciness. (ST)

K&L Notes
The Prince of Pinot.com: "Sourced from the 3-acre Wildrose Vineyard in Green Valley. Dijon clones 115 and 777. Medium reddish-purple color in the glass. A chameleon of a nose offering glimpses of black cherries, biscuit, and savory oak that come and go. Full-flavored and complex offering notes of blackberries, black raspberries, black tea, leaf, and oak vanillin. The tannins are supple and the wine finishes with bright acidity. A solid, even special wine. Very good." (1/2012)
