2010 Anthill Farms Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

SKU #1114985 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Vivid red. Highly perfumed, sexy bouquet of black raspberry, cherry-cola, fresh rose and smoky minerals, with a subtle orange zest nuance. Silky and gently sweet, with spicy red and dark berry flavors and a refreshingly bitter anise quality. Gains weight on the finish but maintains vivacity, leaving floral and spice qualities behind. Allen Meadows - Burghound

Here the nose mixes both red and blue Pinot fruit with an abundance of spice nuances that also characterize the delicious, round and naturally sweet medium-bodied flavors that possess a velvety mouth feel before terminating in a solidly well-balanced and persistent finish. This is lovely and I really like the sense of underlying tension. (1/2013)

K&L Notes

Former Williams Selyem winemakers David Low, Anthony Filiberti and Webster Marquez make up the powerhouse winemaking team behind Anthill Farms, and they know a thing or two about Pinot Noir. Anthill Farms is a boutique producer that specializes in small-batch single-vineyard Pinot sourced exclusively from small growers in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. 2010 marks their seventh vintage.
